Countryside Veterinary Clinic is one of the first clinics to
provide LASER surgeries in the Richmond area. LASER stands
for Light Amplifiation by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
A LASER is a device which generates an intense beam of light.
LASERS can be used for a variety of procedures, including
spay/neuter, dew claw removal, tumor removal and eye surgery.
Our doctors are trained to provide laser surgeries to animals.
The way a laser works is determined by the specific wavelength of light that it produces. For example, the most commonly used surgical laser is a C02 laser which produces an invisible beam of light that vaporizes the water normally found in the skin and other soft tissue. Because Countryside can precisely control the laser, only a thin layer of tissue is removed, leaving the surrounding areas unaffected.
There are several advantages of LASER technology, including:
Less Bleeding
Reduces Infections
Decrease Anesthetic Time
Less Pain
Less Swelling
